Romanian Orthodox Church confirms its participation in Pan-Orthodox Council

The Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, held on 6-7 June under the chairmanship of Patriarch Daniel, confirmed the participation of the Romanian Orthodox Church in the Pan-Orthodox Council, which is due to convene in Crete on 16-27 June, reports RIA Novosti.

"The Holy Synod encourages the clergy, the monastics and the laity to strengthen their prayer for the participants in the Pan-Orthodox Council in Crete to express faith in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and contribute to communion and fraternal co-operation for the benefit of the Orthodox service in the modern world," reads the statement of the Synod .

The Synod approved the composition of the delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate that will participate in the Holy and Great Council, as well as amendments to the documents included in the agenda of the Council in Crete.
