Ecumenical Patriarchate calls on the Churches refusing to participate in the Council to reconsider their decision
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who is in charge of the preparation for the Holy and Great Council, expresses hope that some local Churches that refused to participate in the Council will reconsider their decision and come to Crete, reports the Greek news agency Romfea.
"I hope that the Churches will reconsider their decision," said the Patriarch on June 15 on his arrival in Crete, where the Pan-orthodox Council is due to take place. According to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, "the decision of some sister churches not to come forward and not to participate in the Holy and great Synod certainly overshadows the joy of this historic event."
Recall that on June 15 the Serbian Church reviewed their decision and said that it would participate in the Pan-Orthodox Council.
