Kiev Patriarchate condemns protests against government

Kiev Patriarchate does not support the mass protests. This was said by the head of the UOC-KP Patriarch Filaret during the meeting of the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations with the President of Ukraine, reports the website of the Ukrainian President.

The head of the Kiev Patriarchate, Patriarch Filaret, "stressed that the Church does not support the movement, aimed at destabilizing Ukraine," says the site.

Patriarch Filaret called politicians who support these actions, short-sighted. "Our short-sighted politicians do not understand what they are doing, and that is the main thing for today’s Ukraine," said Filaret.

As reported by the UOJ, the Primate of the UOC at a meeting of the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations with the President of Ukraine stressed that the Church will do everything for the unity of the Ukrainian people.
