Russian Orthodox Church will offer prayers for revolution victims on its 100 anniversary
“The Bishop’s Synod resolved to hold a Bishop’s Council of the ROCOR in Munich in June 9-15, 2017. The Council will be dedicated to the great consecration of the Cathedral of Russian Saint New Martyrs and Confessors in Munich,” the press-release details.
Apart from that, due to the oncoming centennial anniversary of October revolution, the Synod decided to make a special address to the clergy and parish for their consent to commemorate in prayers all those “who were innocently killed, suffered travails and ordeals, and died a bitter death in exiles and imprisonment during hard times,” in all temples of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia on special days of church commemoration of the departed.
