The Nativity of Christ is not just a feast, it is our life, – Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich)

The task of each of us is to make our heart a manger for Divine Infant Christ the Savior. This was said by the Chancellor of the UOC, rector of the KTA&S Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary in his Christmas greetings.

Today the Holy Church celebrates the Nativity of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Nativity of Christ, according to the Holy Fathers, is a great manifestation of God's love for humanity. Christ is born in order to save each of us, to get each man from that power under which the person was after the fall of our forefathers.

The most valuable thing the man has had since the coming into the world of the Lord Himself is the opportunity to become God by grace. God became man so that man might become God. This is the main thesis, which is found in the writings of the Fathers, when they reflect on the Incarnation.

From that moment, man is given the opportunity to overcome sin. Therefore, the task of each of us is to make our heart a manger for Divine Infant Christ the Saviour.

And that's why the Nativity of Christ is not just a feast associated with the event which once occurred, the Nativity of Christ is our reality, it is our life.

"And so, greeting you, dear brothers and sisters, on the Nativity of Christ, I wish we all would focus all our energy and efforts so that Christ is born in our lives", said at the end of his Christmas message Metropolitan Anthony.
