Home is a powerful resource for family support, if the atmosphere is friendly, – scientists

“Home as a vital environment for human” study proved that unless rest and recreation are promoted at home, there can develop an estrangement state. It is reported by Pravmir.

“If your home lacks a space for the rest and development, and a psychological atmosphere in a family leaves to be desired, a state of estrangement can be the case. One of its features – less time spent with your family,” tell the authors of the book.

One of the topics highlighted in the book is an image of home. Scientists conducted a research and established that this image in consciousness of a contemporary human is rather multi-faceted.

“Home as a space is steady and volatile at one and the same time (when curtains are changed or furniture moved) and can be a powerful resource for self-support of its residents: the place to relax, focus, “slice and dice” complicated emotions, indulge in creative activities. Home can be a place with history, making one reflect on his/her family, or an unfulfilled dream,” the book says.

The authors also consider such notions as attachment to one’s home and estrangement from it. The longer man lives in the same place, the more he gets attached to it, according to the survey, conducted by scientists among 300 citizens of Moscow and localities near Moscow.
