ROC Primate prays for peace in Ukraine on his eighth anniversary of enthronement

On February , the day of the eighth anniversary of enthronement of His Holiness Kirill Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus, a delegation of top hierarchs led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and all Ukraine took part in the festive divine service at Moscow church of Christ the Savior. It is reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.

Among representatives of Local Orthodox Churches, who congratulated the ROC Primate and participated in the Divine Service, were Metropolitan Kirinskiy Athanasius (Orthodox Church of Alexandria); bishop Antony of Moravic (Serbian Orthodox Church); archimandrite Stephan (Dispirakis) (Orthodox Church of Jerusalem); archimandrite Theoctist (Dimitrov) (Orthodox Church of Bulgaria); archimandrite Seraphim (Shemiatovsky) (Orthodox Church of the Czech lands and Slovakia).

After the Litany of Fervent Supplication His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry offered his prayer for the Primate of the Russian Church. Then His Holiness Patriarch Kirill prayed for the peace in Ukraine.

The service was also shared by the representative of Patriarch of Antioch and all East Metropoltian Niphon of Philippople, hegumen of the Russian Pantheleimon monastery on the Holy Mount Athos archimandrite Eulogius (Ivanov).

After the end of Liturgy the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church voiced a congratulatory address to His Holiness Patriarch on behalf of the members of Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church and donated a replica of Donskaya icon of the Holy Virgin.
