Arch of Peoples’ Friendship in gay colors sent to hell

The prolonged changes in the exterior of the Arch of Peoples’ Friendship resulted in numerous memes in social networks, writes Vesti.

Kievites ironically say that such a place should not be wasted and advise to place advertising banners on it, and those who do not like the new Arch, with the help of a photoshop, added it to one of the pictures by the Dutch artist Hieronymus Bosch, which depicts hell.

Initially, the monument was painted in the colors of the rainbow, but after protests of the residents of the capital, who saw in the new design the colors of the LGBT community, it was decided to variate the "gay symbol" with Ukrainian ornament.

The Arch of Peoples’ Friendship was opened in 1982 to commemorate the reunification of Ukraine with Russia. It took four years to build the monument, the opening coincided with the anniversary of the USSR formation.
