Immortal Regiment: Sviatogorsk Lavra to Commemorate the Fallen with Cross Procession and Memorial Service

On 9 May there will be held a cross procession from the Assumption Cathedral to the center of Sviatogorsk onto the Glory Hill to the mass grave where a memorial service will take place, writes the Lavra’s site.

The Lavra’s clergy ask those who wish to participate in the cross procession to take on portraits of veterans and the fallen soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, and to write a list with their names for prayerful commemoration during the service.

The Lavra’s brethren also opened an album “Immortal Regiment of Sviatogorsk” on the Internet.

The clergymen request to add to this album photos of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, who took part in the battles for Sviatogorye and who were born in Sviatogorsk and villages next to the place.

One should note in the album the first, the last and the patronymic names of the veteran if they are known, life years, a rank and a biography. Besides, photos of the relevant documents, awards and other references may be given there.
