Uniates have yet to return 126 seized churches to Ukrainian Catholics, – expert

In Ukraine, persecutions of Metropolitan Mieczyslaw Mokszycki of Lviv RCC continues. According to Polonia Christiana (Krakow, Poland), this statement was made by Professor Vladimir Osadchy, Director of the Center for Eastern European Studies – Centrum Ucrainicum KUL, quotes Regnum review of Radio Vatican.

The professor noted particularly the fact that the Monsignor is criticized by the person "connected with the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church". According to him, the Archbishop is one of the few pastors who is able to have his position on complex issues of the stance of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine.

The situation is alarming, Osadchy noted, RCC in Ukraine has not returned property and captured churches up to this day, which, unfortunately, is now more in the hands of the UGCC.

"Meanwhile, Monsignor Mokszycki recalls that more than 126 Roman Catholic churches were illegally captured by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church," Professor Osadchy stressed.

As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan of Lviv RCC Mieczyslaw Mokszycki said in an interview with the Polish Catholic weekly Niedziela that Ukrainians need to repent for the Volyn tragedy.

In view of with this statement, the representatives of the UGCC expressed their claims toward Mechislav Mokshitsky. Hieromonk Justin (Yuriy Boyko), former rector of the Saint Ivanovo Lavra of the UGCC, said that the utterance of Metropolitan Mieczyslaw Mokszycki of Lviv RCC was right-wing radicalism and chauvinism. Uniate priest accuses Metropoplitan Mieczyslav Mokshitsky of chauvinism.
