Authorities begin to look for violations of UOC in the Kolomyia church

On June 14, the Office of Civil Service of Ukraine for Emergencies in the Ivano-Frankivsk region issued an Order demanding an unscheduled inspection. According to a UOJ source, it is planned to check whether the UOC community properly took care of the Annunciation Church in Kolomyia.

The unscheduled inspection will be conducted by Lieutenant of Civil Protection Nazary Oleniuk from June 14 to June 15. He must control the "Execution of the requirements of fire, man-made safety and civil protection of the church in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the town of Kolomyia."

Earlier, the governor decided to bring the question of the confessional belonging of the church to "public discussion", despite the fact that the church is at the disposal of the UOC on legal grounds, according to the 1991 agreement on indefinite use. The agreement can be terminated only through the court.

The UOJ is closely following developments in Kolomyia.
