There is a way to resolve the church schism in Ukraine, – Patriarch Theophilus

Schism is the greatest sin within the Church, this is the split within the body of the Church, said Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem in the series of interviews "The Word to Ukrainians".

"We have to try our best, our otmost to restore the unity of the Church," Patriarch Theophilus said. "As to the way to resolve it, I myself in the capacity of a spiritual hierarch and Patriarch of Jerusalem have always thought that the best way is to restore the unity of Ukrainian Orthodoxy with the Moscow Patriarchate and then dialogue is the way to solve the problem. And as an example, I often give the relationship between the Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Church of Greece."

The Patriarch of Jerusalem assured that from the Holy See of Jerusalem, the place of redemption, crucifixion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the place of his burial place and resurrection, they pray that the Lord will bring "peace between Heaven and Earth, peace between people, and peace and reconciliation among the Ukrainian people".
