Chaplains of UGCC call seizure of church in Kolomyia "a miracle of the Lord"
"After the court took an unconstitutional position, supporting the Moscow church and actually condemning the activities of the Kolomyia police, and with it – all of us, we realized that while the legislation does not work, the activists should say their word," Nikolai Medinsky, chaplain of the UGCC, explained the seizure of Annunciation Church. So began the Spiritual Maidan."
Then the cleric explained that, in his opinion, there was no forcible seizure.
"The fact is that no one broke any seals, no one cut down any locks," the publication quotes Medinsky. "In the morning, when the activists in the tents woke up, the door was ajar. One of the guys noticed this when the priests were preparing for service in front of the door. When we were convinced that it was really so, we went into the church. Who did this – whether it was a miracle of the Lord or an attempt of the Muscovites to break into the temple at night while everyone was asleep – it's hard to say. We are supporters of the opinion that this is a miracle because for vigils, after the tents had been put up, not only we stayed, but also the icon of Our Lady of Unity, which stood just in front of the door. How it really happened, we do not know, because we did not see it. But since there was no seal or locks on the door, we entered and began to pray."
In the same interview, the chaplains of the UGCC confirmed patrolling the territory near the temple at night. Probably, it is done to avoid new "miracles".
