Tithes Monastery brethren waiting for Trump’s help
Vicar of the Tithes Monastery of the UOC Archimandrite Gideon (Kharon), a US citizen and an order bearer (he served in California, was a chaplain on the US Navy ship and was awarded government decorations), appealed on behalf of the monastery brethren (including three Americans) and the Tithes community of Kiev to President Trump with a call to protect them from lawlessness and arbitrariness," writes the press secretary of the UOC Vasily Anisimov.
A similar request was directed to American Orthodox co-religionists – US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and US Ambassador to Ukraine Mary Jovanovic.
The monks of the Tithes Monastery call for peace and report that they have all the documents confirming the legality of the temple's placement on the site.
On February 3, "S14" activists announced an action near the church walls. The brotherhood of the Tithes Monastery, in turn, urged the faithful of the UOC to help protect the monastery.
