In Kiev, unknown people attempt to set fire to UOC temple in Babi Yar
On the night of March 14, unknown persons committed an arson on the territory of the church of the UOC in Kiev
As reported by a UOJ source, a wood stack near the church was caught in flames. The watchman needed three fire extinguishers to eliminate the fire.
According to the church-keeper, Vladimir Oleshko, before the arson, at about 12 o'clock in the morning, a man and a woman turned to him. He spoke Russian, she – Ukrainian. The people inquired what patriarchy the church belongs to. "Oh, how they build for themselves!" said the man, finding out that the temple belongs to the UOC MP.
Talking to the visitors, the watchman noticed a shadow of a fleeing man flitting past the church fence. Immediately after this a fire broke out, which was extinguished on their own. The man and the woman disappeared.
According to the rector of the church Archpriest Igor Temnik, this is the seventh attempt to set fire to the temple since 2014.
On the night of March 10, unknown people burned the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the Obolonsky District of Kiev.
