Parubiy: Constantinople approves the date of the Unification Council

The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, at a meeting of the conciliatory council of the Verkhovna Rada on December 3, Andrei Parubiy stated that the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate approved the working date of the “Unification Council”, at which the Tomos on autocephaly ill officially be granted, reports “Gordon”.
“I’ve received information from the Ecumenical Patriarchate that the Synod has already approved the working date of the All-Ukrainian Unification Council, which will be held in Kiev to create the Single Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as well as elect its primate,” Parubiy said.
He also noted that it is necessary to initiate a discussion on how the newly formed church structure will function after receiving the Tomos.
As the UOJ reported, Andrei Parubiy proposed to transfer the Sofia Cathedral, which is part of the Sofia of Kiev National Reserve, for the services of the SLC.
