State Border Service: “Council” opponents will not be allowed to Ukraine
Border guards will carry out additional checkups at the border
Employees of the State Border Service of Ukraine will conduct additional checks at the border in order to identify individuals who may hinder the “unification council” in Kiev, explained Oleg Slobodian, spokesman for the department, reports RIA Novosti.
“Additional measures are aimed at identifying individuals who can promote or carry out provocations during the event on Saturday. This is a set of activities: these are additional inspections and other safeguards to be carried out within the limits of our competence,” the official said.
As the UOJ reported, earlier on December 9, at the Novotroitskoye checkpoint, the SBU officers did not allow Metropolitan Hilarion (Shukalo) and Metropolitan Mitrofan (Nikitin) to enter the territory controlled by Ukraine. The passes were revoked but returned later.
