Novinsky – to UOC believers at the Rada: we are more and people back us!
MP from the "Opposition Bloc" party Vadim Novinsky
There are more believers of the UOC and by joint efforts they will be able to overcome the situation that has developed as a result of the adoption of the anti-church bill No. 5309. This was said by Vadim Novinsky, a Parliamentarian from the Opposition Bloc party to the moleben prayer participants near the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, Nash TV channel reports.
According to V. Novinsky, the adopted bill violates human rights, but nonetheless it does not stop the authorities: they deliberately incite religious strife.
“These laws will lead to a great confrontation in our society. We must maintain courage, peace of mind, not to succumb to provocations, though we will be certainly provoked. But we, the Opposition Bloc party, will protect every priest, every temple with all available legal means. We will not allow this gang to destroy our Church,” said the MP.
As the UOJ reported, earlier MP Nestor Shufrich stated that the bill on the renaming of the UOC was voted with violations: during the voting there were recorded cases of the “push button”, recorded on video.
