On February 10, 2019, with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, a parish meeting of the religious community was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Odessa, reports the press service of the Odessa eparchy.

The parish rector, Protopriest Viktor Petliuchenko, addressed the congregation. He spoke about the difficult situation in today's church life in Ukraine and on the enacted law “On amendments to certain laws of Ukraine (regarding the subordination of religious organizations and the procedure for state registration of religious organizations with the status of legal entities)” (No. 4128-d).

As a result of the meeting, held in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, photo and video documented, the parishioners gathered expressed unanimous support for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its Primate, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine.

After that, a common thanksgiving moleben, along with the prayer to the new martyrs and confessors of the faith of Christ, was performed.

“The example of the new martyrs and confessors is more relevant than ever today,” the eparchy officials note. “Many hundreds of thousands of our compatriots resisted and did not betray the Orthodox faith, despite serious persecutions of the godless Soviet power.”

As the UOJ reported, on February 10, parish meetings were held at several churches of the Chernovtsy eparchy, in which the UOC communities decided to remain in the bosom of the canonical Church headed by His Beatitude Onufry.
