St. Nicholas Church community in vlg. Prislop confirms its loyalty to UOC

The old wooden St. Nicholas Church, the village of Prislop

The decision to testify to the allegiance to the canonical Church under the leadership of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine was accepted by the believers of the St. Nicholas parish at a meeting of the religious community on March 10, 2019, reports the Mezhgorye Deanery of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC.

In total, 102 people took part in the parish meeting. There were no misunderstandings or provocations on the interfaith ground in the village.

We recall that a week earlier, on March 3, in the so-called “lower” church of the village of Prislop - the Holy Ascension Church of the UOC — a parish community meeting was also held, which confirmed the retention of jurisdiction. However, on that day, supporters of the new church structure (OCU), who were going to initiate the “transfer” of the church to another jurisdiction, entered the church territory accompanied by the police. However, the activists did not participate in the meeting of believers.
