Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew congratulated the Ukrainians on the upcoming anniversary of the Baptism of Rus and said that this year a delegation of the Constantinople Orthodox Church will arrive in Ukraine for the celebrations, reports "TSN".

“We would like to wish you all the blessings from God, as well as a successful celebration of the anniversary of the Baptism of Rus and the Commemoration Day of St. Vladimir,” said Patriarch Bartholomew. “This year, a delegation from the Mother Church of Constantinople will arrive in Ukraine for the feast and bring with them the invaluable relics of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called to be venerated by pious Ukrainian people.”

It is noted that the relic will be brought on the evening of July 27, 2019, to St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral.

As the UOJ reported, on July 28, 2019, the OCU will perform service in Kiev on the territory of St. Sophia and the “Ukrainian cross procession” to the monument to Prince Vladimir on the Vladimir Hill.

The celebrations of the UOC of the 1031st anniversary of the Baptism of Rus will be held on July 27 and 28: On July 27, a solemn prayer service led by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Onuphry will begin on Vladimir Hill at 1:00 pm; on July 28, at 9:00 a solemn Divine Liturgy will take place in the square in front of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The Liturgy will be led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry concelebrated by the assembly of bishops.

We recall that in 2018, 250 thousand believers took part in the celebrations of the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Kievan Rus by St. Prince Vladimir in Kiev.
