His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine arrived in Montenegro to take part in the celebration of the feast day of St. Simeon the Myrrh-streaming and to prayerfully support the Orthodox believers of this country in difficult times of trial, reports Bishop Viktor (Kotsaba) of Baryshevka on his Telegram channel.

During the visit, a delegation from Ukraine should visit the ancient capital of Montenegro – Cetinje, where they venerate the relics of St. Peter of Cetinje.

The hierarchs of the Ukrainian and Serbian Orthodox Churches will celebrate the Divine Liturgy and take part in the procession, which will be led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.

Archimandrite Sergius (Pushkar) from the Serbian Diocese in Chicago said that believers are gathering at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in the Montenegrin capital Podgorica in the anticipation of the Primate of the UOC Metropolitan Onuphry and Metropolitan Amfilohije (Radović) of Montenegro and the Littoral.

According to the archimandrite, on the evening of February 27, several tens of thousands of Orthodox Christians are expected at the prayer and religious procession in Podgorica.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry arrived at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the Montenegro-Littoral Metropolis of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Podgorica. The Primate of the UOC was welcomed by hundreds of believers and clergy. The UOJ is broadcasting the event live.

As reported, the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, is on a visit to Montenegro on February 27–29, 2020.
