On November 11, 2022, the Primate of the UOC transmitted a video message to the abbot and brethren of the Sviatogorsk Lavra, in which he expressed words of spiritual support, news.church.ua reports. On the same day, humanitarian aid was delivered to the Assumption Sviatogorsk Lavra from the parishioners and clergy of the Kyiv Eparchy.

“We are with you, dear bishops, fathers and brethren,” said His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, addressing the Abbot Arseniy and the brethren of the monastery. The primate noted that although in Kyiv “they don’t attack like that; they don’t shoot like that, but all the same, the war echoes everywhere in the soul of every believer and every Christian.”

“We ask and pray to God that the Lord strengthen you in your courage, patience in the standing that you are doing today for the sake of the name of God in order to show people the path leading to Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven even in this difficult time,” noted His Beatitude. He expressed his joy that in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church “there are such bishops, metropolitans, monks and faithful people – children of our Church who know how to endure, know how to forgive, know how to pray.” “May the Lord bless you all,” called Vladyka.

As the UOJ wrote, building materials from the Cherkasy eparchy were brought to the Sviatogorsk Lavra.
