Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the nation on Catholic Christmas.

Zelenskyy's video message was published on the YouTube channel “Office of the President of Ukraine” on 24 December 2022.

Zelenskyy urged Ukrainians to be steadfast in the face of Russian attacks, saying that "freedom has a high price, but slavery has an even higher price".

In his address to the nation, the Ukrainian leader said Ukrainians will create their own Christmas miracle.

"We endured at the beginning of the war. We withstood attacks, threats, nuclear blackmailing, terror, and missile attacks. We will endure this winter because we know what we are fighting for," Zelenskyy said.

"Wherever we are, we will be together tonight. And together we will look up into the evening sky. And together we will remember the morning of February 24. Let us remember how much we have passed. We will remember Azovstal, Irpin, Bucha, Kramatorsk, Zmiinyi, Chernobaivka, Izium, Kherson. We will make a wish. One for all. And we will feel joy. One for all. And understand the truth. One for all. That no kamikaze drones can extinguish the Christmas star. We'll see it shine, even underground, in a bomb shelter. We will fill our hearts with warmth and light. No “Kinzhals” can wound them. They will break against our steely spirit. And our fight will go on unceasingly. It will not be threatened by planned or emergency shutdowns. And we will never feel the lack of courage and invincibility. We will celebrate our holidays! As always. We will smile and rejoice. As always. The only difference is that we will not wait for a miracle, for we will create it ourselves. Christ is born! Let's praise Him!" concluded the President.

As reported, Zelenskyy congratulated the Phanar head on Christmas.
