The head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, led an ecumenical prayer service for the unity of Christians at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Chalcedonian Metropolis in Istanbul on January 27, 2023, reports fosfanariou.gr.
The head of the OCU led the ecumenical prayer service at the invitation of Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon.
Besides the OCU and the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the ecumenical prayer service was attended by representatives of the Roman Catholic Church and other denominations of Turkey.
The website fosfanariou.gr noted that Epifaniy Dumenko "took part" in the ecumenical prayer service, but numerous photos published on the website show that the head of the OCU led the ecumenical prayer service in Istanbul.
As repDumenko arrived in Istanbul from the Vatican on 26 January for an official meeting with Patriarch Bartholomew.
As earlier reported, the Phanar head told Dumenko that now Pope Francis is closer to the OCU and Ukraine.
