The Kyiv mayor's office has responded to an electronic appeal registered on the official website of the Kyiv City Council demanding the demolition of the UOC Tithe Church, reports the edition "Comments".

Deputy Mayor of Kyiv Viacheslav Nepop said that the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control of the capital did not issue or register documents granting the right to perform construction works and certifying the acceptance into service of the completed facility at Volodymyrska Street, 2-R in the Shevchenkivsky district.

"The religious community of UOC-MP, according to a court's decision, had to vacate the land plot of more than 133 square meters that it unlawfully occupied. At the end of 2022, the executive body of the Kyiv City Council and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine were brought in as third parties to the case. At the direction of the Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleev, dated December 23, 2022, the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control of Kyiv prepared and provided written explanations in this case, which supported the plaintiff's claim in full," a statement of the mayor's office says.

City officials also reminded that a ruling of the Kyiv Commercial Court dated 18.01.2023 in case #910/9385/20 closed the preparatory proceedings and set the case for trial on the merits.

As reported, a court hearing at the Kyiv Commercial Court in the case on the dismantling of the UOC Tithe Monastery temple was postponed until 15 February.
