The Primate of the UOC is an example of a true shepherd, spiritual mentor, and true Christian. Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary said this in his video congratulation on the occasion of St. Patron’s Feast of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

“For me, you are a paragon of true shepherd, spiritual mentor, true Christian,” said the UOC Chancellor in his address to the Primate, published on the hierarch’s Facebook page. “I infinitely appreciate the opportunity to concelebrate in the Church with you, under your spiritual direction and wise guidance. All your homilies are collected in my heart as the greatest treasure; every conversation with you leaves a deep trace in my soul. Your words always strengthen and comfort, the warmth of your loving heart tirelessly consoles everyone who needs approval and support.”

Metropolitan Anthony emphasized that His Beatitude Onuphry personifies courage and fidelity to the Church, God, Christian values, Orthodox traditions and people.

“You have repeatedly demonstrated your steadfast and adamant faith in various situations throughout your ministry. All your priceless qualities – fortitude, fearlessness, optimism greatly support and inspire us, Orthodox Christians. May the Lord, who generously bestowed on you His graces and gifts, strengthen you in your further ministry and give you everything necessary for the salvation of your soul,” said the hierarch, wishing the Archpastor health, strength, vitality and prosperity for many blissful years of life.
