In the video message, recorded by the parishioners and clergymen of the Academic Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, believers repeatedly said that the monastery is their second home, where many of them grew up spiritually, and prayer of the inhabitants helps them to overcome everyday problems. Therefore, the faithful are ready to stand up for their sanctuary.

"We are Orthodox Christians, peaceful people. But the priesthood, the parishioners of our Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin are ready to defend our shrine from desecration and disgrace. All those who care about the Lavra come here to pray for peace, for all people. I am glad God is with us, Christ is risen!" said one of the parishioners of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The faithful also appealed to the authorities to keep the church for further service and prayer and expressed hope for the humanity and wisdom of the officials on whom the Lavra’s fate depends.

Earlier, Metropolitan Luke called the ignoring of members of the Holy Synod by the OP staff a slap in the face of the Kyiv Caves saints.
