Head of the UOC Synodal Information and Education Department, Metropolitan Clement said in a commentary to Strana.ua that the question of breaking the contract of the Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" with the UOC should be settled in court. The UOC has no legal grounds for vacating the monastery.

He added that the commission, which is supposed to start the process of accepting the transfer of the premises on the territory of the monastery, will not be able to do anything on 30 March.

"There has to be an appropriate court decision for the commission to work, at the moment there is none, which means that there is no legal justification for the commission to work either," said Bishop Clement.

As reported, Archpriest Nikita Chekman filed a lawsuit with the Economic Court of Kyiv claiming the unlawful termination of the lease agreement with the Reserve unilaterally.
