MP of the "European Solidarity" party Mykola Knyazhytskyi on the air of the "Espreso" said that because of the seizures of UOC temples, there is a great risk that Ukraine will appear before the international community in an unattractive light.

"This is a very dangerous situation. Because it is one thing when representatives of the authorities take it (a decision to ban the UOC – Ed.), and quite another thing when people come and take churches by force," Knyazhytskyi said.

According to him, there is "a huge risk that Ukraine will be accused of non-compliance with the Convention for Human Rights. There is an extremely high risk that they will then win courts".

Knyazhytskyi believes that this could "lead to confrontation": "This is announced (the decision to ban the UOC – Ed.), as a rule, in the western and central regions. No one announces it in the East. And it may happen so that the activity of the UOC may be terminated in western and central Ukraine, and it will become even more popular in the east".

The MP believes that this is "another reason for civil conflict in Ukraine. All this is very dangerous".
