MP from the Holos party Inna Sovsun told Channel 5 that due to the Rada's unwillingness to ban the UOC, local authorities and territorial communities are compelled to use force against its believers and priests.
“Due to the lack of political will of the Parliament to actively get involved and make this decision (the UOC ban – Ed.), these decisions are ultimately made on the ground,” says Sovsun.
In her opinion, this is happening "not in the form in which it would be worth taking." The MP is sure that if the Parliament banned the UOC, it would “remove the tension on the ground” and save the local communities “from the need to enter into conflict situations and forcefully kick out the priests of the russian orthodox church from Ukrainian churches.”
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to Sovsun, the bills on the UOC are not put to vote at the Verkhovna Rada for fear of not gaining votes.
