"Ukrposhta" at the request of the monks of the Basilian Order (UGCC) issued a postage stamp dedicated to the Unitarian period of the Pochaiv Lavra – the 250th anniversary of the coronation of the miraculous Pochaiv icon of the Mother of God, reports velychlviv.com.

It is reported that on the postage stamp, there is a stylized image of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the miracle-working icon against the background of the picture of Pochaiv Church and Monastery from the historical engraving by Fedor Strelbytskyi.

Above the picture of the Mother of God, an inscription "250th anniversary of the coronation of the Pochaiv Mother of God" is placed; in the upper right corner is a trident, the national emblem of Ukraine.

At the bottom, under the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the coat of arms of St. Basil the Great; to the right of it is the abbreviation UGCC, which, according to the authors, means that the shrine belongs to the UGCC, and on the left are the years when the Pochaiv Lavra was under the rule of the monks of the Order of St. Basil the Great.

The crowning of the icon took place at the Pochaiv monastery in September 1773. At that time, this monastery was under the Basilian Order – permission and blessing for the coronation were granted by Pope Clement XIV of Rome, and it was performed by the Uniate Bishop of Lutsk and Ostroh, Silvester Rudnytsky.

As reported, the OCU and the UGCC are arguing over who should get the Pochaiv Lavra.
