On August 17, 2023, His Beatitude Tikhon, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, Archbishop of Washington, conveyed congratulations to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine on the ninth anniversary of his enthronement, the Information and Education Department of the UOC reports.

“Your Beatitude, dear brother and concelebrant in the Lord's Mysteries, I congratulate Your Beatitude on the anniversary of your enthronement as Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine and send you my heartfelt congratulations,” wrote Metropolitan Tikhon.

The Primate of the OCA assured His Beatitude of his fraternal prayers for his primatial ministry.

“The faithful of the Orthodox Church in America, through their prayers and labors, embrace the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the entire Ukrainian people,” said Metropolitan Tikhon.

Archpriest Alexander Rentel, Chancellor of the OCA, presented an icon of the Most Venerable Father Herman of Alaska, Elder and Wonderworker, the patron saint of all North America and the heavenly patron of the Orthodox in the United States, as a gift to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry from the fullness of the Orthodox Church in America.

“Just as he was an unfailing defender and bright North Star for the Orthodox Church in America, may he become a staunch and unflagging intercessor and prayerful guide for Your Beatitude, Your Throne of Kyiv and all Ukraine, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and the Ukrainian nation and people,” says the congratulation of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.

“May we all have Saint Herman’s gracious intercessions, now and until the end of our sojourn in this world, ‘until Shiloh come’, the Conciliator, Christ the Lord, our true God and Savior, to whom be all glory and honor (Gen. 49:10),” wished His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada, the Archbishop of Washington.

Representatives of the Orthodox Church in America, who arrived to congratulate His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry on the anniversary of his enthronement, are Archpriest Alexander Rentel, the OCA’s Chancellor, and Archpriest Nazariy Polataiko, rector of the Cathedral in honor of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Rescue of the Perishing” in Los Angeles.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the UOC celebrated the ninth anniversary of the enthronement of its Primate.
