On 20 November 2023, the OCU chaplain Nazar Zasansky explained why Dumenko's supporters brutally beat the UOC believers during the seizure of the Cherkasy monastery.

The Telegram channel "Myriany" published a video in which the "priest" Zasansky says that the believers of the UOC were explained that “the terms are ending and it is time to vacate the territory" of the Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Cherkasy, because "the community has moved" to the OCU.

When asked by the journalist whether there are those who do not want to convert to the OCU, the chaplain replied: "Yes, there are. This is the Russian Church. There are professional FSB cadres here, special agents who are here to undermine our country from the inside".

As reported, during the seizure of the Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Cherkasy, raiders beat believers and broke the jaw of a UOC priest.
