On 25 December, authorities deploy 20,000 police officers to maintain order

On 25 December 2023, about 20 thousand law enforcement officers will maintain law and order in Ukraine because of the celebration of Christmas in the RCC, UGCC, OCU and other denominations, said the head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police Anatoliy Seredinsky on air of the telethon.
According to him, the main efforts of police officers will be aimed at protecting "the buildings in which worship services will be held, as well as places of mass stay of citizens".
Seredinsky also highlighted that the use of fireworks and firecrackers is prohibited in the country.
In addition, the police noted that law enforcers will detain violators for breaking the curfew and bring them to the district police departments.
As reported, the web showed an empty Dormition Cathedral of Lavra during the OCU’s “Christmas service".
