On February 19, 2021, the Ukrainian Embassy in Serbia posted on its social media accounts the text of a “fraternal greeting” by Sergey (Epiphany) Dumenko to the newly elected Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia. The Embassy staff did not comment on Dumenko's text in any way, they only made a translation and reposted his publication.
The head of the Embassy, Alexander Alexandrovich, also posted on his official Facebook page congratulations to Patriarch Porfirije. In addition, he regularly posts publications of the OCU and Sergey Dumenko in particular, on the "recognition" of the OCU by the Greek Church.
We remind that in February 2020, similar actions of the Ukrainian Embassy in Montenegro caused a scandal. Then the diplomats posted on their social media accounts quotes from the messages of the OCU press service, where it was said that the only Primate of the Ukrainian church was allegedly Epiphany Dumenko, and His Beatitude Onuphry was called “Metropolitan of the Russian Orthodox Church in Kyiv” in the Embassy's comments.
In April 2020, on the fact of provocative statements by representatives of the Ukrainian diplomatic service regarding His Beatitude Onuphry, criminal proceedings were opened. However, the data on how they ended were not made public.
