Fr Volodymyr Popivchuk, the rector of the UOC community of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the German city of Freiburg, said how believers of Christian denominations in Germany treat the persecution of the UOC by the Ukrainian authorities. The interview with the priest was published on her YouTube channel by the head of the Rivne "Myriany" Tetiana Tsaruk.
According to Fr Volodymyr, the UOC is most sympathised with by parishioners of Protestant Churches, who do not understand how the Ukrainian authorities can wage persecution of the Church's believers.
"For them, it's a brain explosion. They don't understand how this can be. They say, 'What century are we living in'." <...> It is not accidental because these people read the Holy Scriptures. They read and study it. They know their faith though in a distorted way," the priest said.
As reported, a new community of the UOC started operating in the German city of Freiburg.
