Metropolitan Yevlogiy expresses compassion to victims of shelling in Sumy

On 8 March 2024, Metropolitan Yevlogiy (Hutchenko) of Sumy published on his Facebook page a condolence message to Sumy residents who suffered as a result of a Russian missile strike the day before.
"Another tragedy that befell our city of Sumy yesterday, 7 March, caused great pain in my heart," the bishop wrote.
According to him, this "act of violence once again highlights the ruthlessness of the enemy who does not stop before terrorizing the innocent".
Sumy Metropolitan expressed his condolences to all those who suffered from the shelling.
"I pray for the souls of the victims. May the Lord rest them in His Kingdom, grant a quick recovery to the wounded and help us all to gather strength to recover and unite in the struggle and build a better future for Ukraine," the bishop added.
According to the head of the Sumy RMA, the strike hit the medical campus. Four people went to hospitals, the total number of injured is about 10. In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there were dead.
As reported, the Sumy Eparchy handed over equipment to medics for the treatment of children with cancer.
