During an extraordinary session of the Volyn Regional Council, Deputy Andriy Bokoch demanded that the believers of the UOC be immediately expelled from the Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr, according to the local publication volynnews.com.

Deputy Chairman of the Volyn Regional State Administration Myroslava Yakymchuk stated that the contract for the use of the Assumption Cathedral expires on July 1.

"The regional military administration will act in accordance with the current legislation. The Volyn Regional Administration has no right to prohibit the activities of religious organizations. There is nothing to report on now, as the contract is still in force," said Myroslava Yakymchuk and announced the intention not to renew the contract.

Andriy Bokoch was not satisfied with this state of affairs and demanded that the Chairman of the Volyn Regional State Administration, Yuriy Pohulyayko, not pay attention to the illegality of such a decision and immediately expel the believers from the cathedral.

"They need to be thrown out, as was done in the Khmelnytskyi region. In one week, the head of the RSA terminated 200 lease agreements. The Chairman of the Volyn Regional State Administration says they will go to court, let them go to court. Don't wait until July 1, break it off now," the deputy urged.

Earlier it became known that the city council of Volodymyr demands that the UOC be expelled from the cathedral.
