Profanarian media reported that representatives of the OCU, Yevstratiy Zorya and Avraamiy Lotysh, thanks to Patriarch Bartholomew, commemorated Patriarch Kirill at the liturgy.
The publication fosfanariou.gr, which serves as an unofficial mouthpiece of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, reported that "at the patriarchal liturgy in Valukli, Ukrainian bishops (that is, Yevstratiy Zoria and Avraamiy Lotysh) heard the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew mention Patriarch Kirill of Moscow."
"Ukrainians, thanks to the Ecumenical Patriarch, commemorated (in the original 'μνημονεύει') their executioner!" fosfanariou.gr wrote.
It should be noted that the word "commemorated" in the original is rendered by the term "μνημονεύει", which is used to denote a priest's prayer for his ruling bishop, a ruling bishop's prayer for a patriarch or metropolitan, and a patriarch's prayer for other patriarchs. Thus, it refers to a prayer, not just a "mention".
The fosfanariou.gr wrote that the OCU "officially asked Patriarch Bartholomew to condemn Kirill of Moscow for his entire position on the Ukrainian issue and to isolate him (presumably, this refers to the rupture of relations and cessation of commemoration at the liturgy) until he refrains from his uncompromising position."
"And they are right. So much trouble from the ideology of 'Holy Rus'! But the Ecumenical Patriarch does not have the KGB logic that Metropolitan Antoniy of Volokolamsk has (who suggested that the ROC sever relations with Bulgarian hierarchs who served with the OCU). He waits... He knows... Because from the very beginning of his patriarchal ministry, he has been striving for pan-Orthodox unity, which Moscow is shaking to its core," specified fosfanariou.gr.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that representatives of the Bulgarian Church concelebrated with "hierarchs" of the OCU in Istanbul.
Also, former Ukrainian NSDC head Danilov suggested that the UOC call Patriarch Kirill and Putin Satan.
