Thanks to an emergency statement by Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, an illegal meeting of the false religious community of the cathedral of the UOC in the Ivan Kulik House of Culture in Cherkasy was prevented. This was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy Eparchy on June 11.

As Metropolitan Theodosiy told the believers near the courthouse, he learned that the planned meeting of the supposed religious community of the cathedral of the UOC did not take place at the local House of Culture.

"At least there is some benefit from today's performance (provocations arranged by so-called activists in front of the media cameras). Because we publicly announced that a fictitious meeting of the so-called religious community was planned, they got scared and postponed it," said the hierarch.

According to him, it is not clear for how long it was postponed – for a few hours or days, but the organizers definitely did not give up on trying to hold this fake community meeting again.

"Today, by informing the community in advance, including the international community, we thwarted their attempts to hold a fictitious meeting. We now have some postponement," concluded the Metropolitan of Cherkasy.

As reported by the UOJ, near the courthouse in Cherkasy, a UOC hierarch made an emergency appeal to the UN.
