On July 11, supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), along with police, seized the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the village of Rudnia, according to a report by Dozor_kozak1.

It is reported that the first "service" by the OCU will be held on July 14.

To recall, despite the UOC religious community's reluctance to change the church's jurisdiction, individuals not associated with the parish held a meeting in April 2024, allegedly on behalf of the parishioners, to transfer the church to the OCU. Meanwhile, the actual religious community held a gathering a week prior, affirming their intention to remain within the UOC, collecting 600 signatures to support this decision.

Journalists note that former UOC Metropolitan Alexander Drabinko is connected to the transfer and seizure of the church.

As reported by the UOJ, a UOC priest from Rusaniv recounted how the authorities transferred the church to the OCU under the leadership of Drabinko.
