UOC details celebration of 1033rd anniversary of Baptism of Rus’

On July 27 and 28, 2021, on the occasion of the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’ and the commemoration of the holy noble Prince Vladimir, liturgical celebrations are held on the Vladimir Hill and in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reports the official website of the UOC.

On July 27, a festive thanksgiving prayer service, led by the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, concelebrated by the bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, is held on the Vladimir Hill in Kyiv.  The beginning – 13:00.

The prayer service is followed by a great religious procession to the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, where an all-night vigil is performed.

On July 28, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry leads the festive Divine Liturgy on the square in front of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The beginning – 9:00 a.m.

As previously reported, the Primate of the UOC said that Saint Vladimir is an example of a true Christian and patriot.
