On 1 August, the Northern Appellate Commercial Court of Kyiv held a hearing on the case of the eviction of monks from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Lower Lavra). According to the Telegram channel 'Fortress Lavra', the hearing was postponed.

The monastery's lawyers filed a motion for the judge's recusal.

"The monastery's defenders filed this motion based on doubts about the impartiality of Judge Krapivna. The fact is that she has already participated in hearings on Lavra cases, in which she ruled against the monks," the message states.

The panel of judges denied the lawyers' motion, but the judge recused herself.

Due to this, the court hearing on the eviction of the monastery's brethren from the Lower Lavra was postponed. The reassignment of judges is expected.

As reported by the UOJ, the hearing had also been previously postponed due to the judge's recusal.
