On August 10, in his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he held a meeting "on a decision that will strengthen our spiritual independence".

According to him, this decision should "deprive Moscow of its last opportunities to limit the freedom of Ukrainians".

"And the decisions for this must be fully effective and truly working. We will ensure them," Zelensky declared.

Member of Parliament Artem Dmytruk reacted to this statement on his Telegram channel, saying: "Lord, save Ukraine! Those who do not know our UOC have branded it as the Moscow Church. Now they want to make all of us, millions of Ukrainian citizens, ENEMIES AND TRAITORS with the push of a button! I urge everyone to stand firm in the Orthodox Faith, in our Church, the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church! Fear nothing! God is with us! The truth is with us!"

As the UOJ reported, Amsterdam sounds the alarm regarding the plans of the Ukrainian authorities.
