President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the Verkhovna Rada, which has not convened for three weeks, to hold a session "urgently in the near future". He said this in his video address on August 15, 2024.

"Now, in August, there is a need to strengthen some of our state's legal positions," the President said.

According to him, there are several military bills that require urgent adoption, as well as other equally important issues.

"Of course, besides the decisions I mentioned, there are some other no less important legislative initiatives that strengthen our independence, particularly spiritual independence, as well as government work on their implementation. All of this needs to be done very promptly," Zelensky said.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier Zelensky said that they would ensure decisions on spiritual independence.
