Carriers refuse to provide transport to believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for a trip to Kyiv for the prayer standing at the Verkhovna Rada, reports the NGO “Miriane” on its TG channel.
Such information comes from several regions at once, the organization noted.
"Brothers and sisters! We are receiving disturbing news from the regions. Carriers refuse to provide transport to the parishioners of the UOC from the Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Dnepropetrovsk eparchies for their arrival in Kyiv for tomorrow's prayer standing! They say they were strictly forbidden by the local authorities.
Officials answer that they did not issue any bans, moreover, they are even ready to provide escorts for safety. However, the carriers assure: they were promised big problems if "at least one bus with the parishioners of the UOC leaves the city!" says the message.
As reported, on August 21, 2021, UOC believers gather for the prayer standing at the Verkhovna Rada, where a meeting of the Phanar head with Speaker Dmitry Razumkov is scheduled. The purpose of the prayer action of the UOC is to testify to their faith and show Patriarch Bartholomew that his idea of the church situation in Ukraine has nothing to do with reality.
