On Monday, August 23, monks from the Athonite monasteries Pantokratoros and Xenophontos concelebrated with "Metropolitan of Pereyaslav and Vishneve" Alexander Drabinko at the Transfiguration Cathedral in Teremki, Kyiv, as reported on the Facebook page of the OCU temple.

The group of monks from Athos was headed by the abbot of the Pantokratoros monastery, Archimandrite Gabriel. The delegation includes the well-known supporters of the OCU: Hieromonk Luke – the icon painter from Xenophontos, who designed the text of the Tomos, Hieromonk Nikita from Pantokratoros – one of the authors of the brochure with "explanations" on the Ukrainian church issue.

Drabinko said that the monks of Athos visited Kyiv "with the blessing of Patriarch Bartholomew". The photo shows how he and the parish sponsor Igor Lysov present guests with valuable gifts.

Earlier, the UOC reported that the majority of the monasteries of Athos are against the recognition of the OCU.
