On September 18, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije received Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade. This was reported by the spc.rs website.

It is noted that the conversation took place "in the spirit of Christian mutual understanding." The participants emphasized the importance of further improving cooperation between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church in Serbia at both local and universal levels.

"They also discussed the absurd law passed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which prohibits the mission of the only canonical Orthodox Church in this country," the official website of the Serbian Church reports.

As reported by the UOJ, the Pope has called on the Ukrainian authorities not to ban the Church.
