The faithful of the UOC parish dedicated to the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Novosilky, Kyiv region, held their first prayer in a repurposed facility – a dilapidated old house they began to renovate themselves after their church was seized. This was reported by the Dozor_kozak1 Telegram channel.
A week ago, local activists from the OCU stole the believers' church and their opportunity to pray there. According to the channel, the Sunday service in the seized Orthodox shrine was already conducted by a UGCC cleric, Mykola Medynsky, who oversaw the takeover.
The Orthodox Christians brought furniture and religious items to the old house.
“This is how true Christians pray today. And their fervent prayer to the Lord turns these empty walls into a Church. Let’s help the Orthodox Christians restore their worship life!” wrote Orthodox journalists, sharing the bank details of the church's rector, Father Ihor.
